Prof. Amal Mattu
Professor and Vice Chair; Co-Director Emergency Cardiology Fellowship Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine. Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Amal Mattu has had a passion for teaching and writing about emergency cardiology since he joined the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has authored or edited 20 textbooks in emergency medicine, including eight focused on emergency cardiology and electrocardiography. He lectures nationally and internationally on emergency cardiology topics and has helped to create conferences focused on this area. He has received more than 20 teaching awards, largely for his work in emergency cardiology.
Prof. Michael E. Winters
Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is currently the Vice Chair for Clinical and Administrative Affairs for the Department of Emergency Medicine. Prior to this role, He was the Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department at the University of Maryland Medical Center, founder and Co-Director of the Combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine/Critical Care Program, and Director of Critical Care Education. He has received numerous local, regional, and national teaching awards, including the National Emergency Medicine Faculty Teaching Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the Young Educators Award from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and the 2014-2015 Honorable Mention Outstanding Speaker of the Year from ACEP.
He has lectured nationally and internationally, authored numerous articles and textbook chapters, and host a monthly podcast on the management of critically ill emergency department patients (Critical Care Perspectives in Emergency Medicine, ccpem.blog). In addition, he is Editor-in-Chief of Emergency Department Resuscitation of the Critically Ill, a popular emergency medicine-critical care textbook published by ACEP.

Dr. Haney Mallemat
Dr. Haney Mallemat is a highly accomplished and respected emergency medicine / critical care physician and educator. He received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY followed by a combined EM-IM residency at Downstate / Kings
County Medical Center where he served as chief resident in his final year. He continued his training with a Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Dartmouth School of Medicine in Lebanon, NH; during that time, he further trained in critical care ultrasound and echocardiography.
He began his attending career at the University of Maryland School of Medicine / Shock Trauma Medical Center where he split his clinical time between Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. His time in Emergency medicine focused on emergency ultrasound and resuscitation, while his critical care focus was echocardiography, hemodynamics, and cardiothoracic care. Dr. Mallemat is currently an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at the Cooper Medical School at Rowan University.
